Extreme Sport Enthusiasts Meet at Samsun Falcon Fest

Turkey’s first and only festival of extreme sports Falcon Fest will be organized for the second time by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality and Samsun Tourism Area Infrastructure Service Association (SAMTAB) in Vezirköprü Şahinkaya Canyon. Two different areas will host the activities: Vezirsuyu Nature Park and Şahinkaya Canyon. Triathlon Of Samsun will be held in Atakum.

Festival is offering the participant various extreme sport activities including Canoe, Dragon Boat, Paragliding, Kitesurf, Paramotor, BASE Jump, Slackline/Highline, Rock Climbing, Trekking and Mountain Biking. It is also possible to participate in concert which will be organized in camping area.

Turkey’s first and only festival of extreme sports Falcon Fest will be organized for the second time by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality and Samsun Tourism Area Infrastructure Service Association (SAMTAB) in Vezirköprü Şahinkaya Canyon between 4-9 August.

At the second year of Turkey’s first and only extreme sport festival, 620 athletes from 14 countries will compete in 10 sports, including Canoe, Dragon Boat, Paragliding, Kitesurf, Paramotor, BASE Jump, Slackline / Highline, Rock Climbing, Trekking and Mountain Biking.

On the opening day of festival, 4 August, Şahinkaya Canyon will host to Canoe, Dragon Boat Canyon Passing, Basejump, Rope Jump, Paragliding, Paramotor, Highline, Rock Climbing and Trekking activities. We’ll watch Dragon Boat Marathon Race on the second day, and Sea Canoe Marathon Race on the third day of festival.

The activities which will be held in Vezirsuyu Nature Park start with Mountain Biking Race on 4th August. The canoe activities, which will start on the second day of festival, keep going until 9th August. The participants can participate in pilates and exercise activities between 7-9 August. Vezirsuyu Nature Park host also the concerts of various bands.

On the other hand, Turkey’s first long distance triathlon will be held at  Çobanlı Landibng in Atakum district of Samsun on 5th August within the festival. It is expected that 350 athletes from 9 country will compete for three different categories of triathlon: Sprint (short), olympic and long distance.
